Toby Keith's “Hookin’ Up and Hangin’ Out” tour
“Just the big, fat, bright, gigantic beams,” Jackson reports. “When we first brought them out here, everybody wasn’t sure about them. But as soon as everyone saw them — management, Toby, everybody — they loved those things, and so we kept them in, and kept adding them.”
"According to Bones and Jackson, Keith is a big fan of the Syncrolites." ...read more

Syncrolite products have been exhibited at PLASA, LDI, Rimini, Musik Messe in Frankfurt, Light & Building in Frankfurt and PALME in Dubai. Coming up soon are the Tokyo Lighting Exhibition and PALA in Kuala Lumpur in July, followed by PLASA in September.

Celine Dion
There has been much written about the Celine Dion theatre at Ceasar's Palace in Las Vegas since its grand opening last March. Pictures are worth a thousand words, so Syncrolite commissioned entertainment lighting photographer Lewis Leeto do a photographic study of different Syncrolite looks on the show. The result is confirmation of what we know is true - Lighting Designer Yves Aucoin, Production Manager Dennis Rodriguez, Producer Stan Dragone, and, of course, Celine Dion, have created a new standard for theatrical production. There is nothing like this anywhere else and the show with its innovative use of the massive video screen as the principal set piece, coupled with a variety of innovative big and small lighting looks is a feast for the eyes and ears. Take a look at the pictures in a slide show (high speed connection recommended).

Metallica
The great veterans of heavy metal who were celebrated on this years' MTV Icon Special (May 2003) hit the road with a massive stadium show in early July. Touring with an A and B rig, the Metallica headline power package with Limp Biskit and Linkin Park plows through the US in the trademark "Take No Prisoners" fashion. Lighting Designer John Broderick had some great looks with 22 SX3K and SX7Ks used in an asymmetrical array with half the units flown and half ground mount. Syncrolite techs Josh Henderson (son of Syncrolite's Jimmy Page) and Bryan Keyes crunched through the summer with no technical problems and with super programmer Troy Eckerman, this team and all the other army of techs, helped Mr. Broderick execute a perfect tour.
Ozzfest 2003
Veteran LD Mike Keller and Production Manager Opie Skjerseth just finished another Ozzfest. Syncrolite was proud to have 6 SX3Ks for Ozzie and we think he might even notice them because they are so f-ing big! Anyway we hope next year they find room for some SX7Ks because they are f-ing bigger!!
Audio Slave/Lollapalooza
In another Mike Keller design, Syncrolite provided 7 SX7Ks for Audio Slave who headlined this year's Lollapalooza. For you touring buffs, Syncrolite was the first moving light used on the first Lollapalooza way back when it was the first major tour of a new, now well known LD and Programmer. This being a first big tour and our guy being nervous, he called during the opening show saying that all the lights were on and working, but no light was coming out!!!
We thought "hmm...why don't you try the Grand Master". The phone went dead. We won't name names... but they all lived happily ever after. (It wasn't Mike)
Gert Hof at Trump Taj Mahal
Syncrolite has always been known for mega shows where 100+ Syncrolite 7Ks, Yag Lasers, pyro and large format Pigi Projectors rule. But, there have not been of these in the USA since the last "Power of Houston" in 1999. It was a pleasure welcoming Berlin director Gert Hof and his producer Asteris Koutoulas to the USA. Gert used 80 SS/SX7Ks with Pigis from Fourth Phase and some pyro from Gucci. The show was visible for 20 miles around Atlantic City and created quite a stir among the blasŽ Americans who believe they have seen it all.
Gert Hof is part 21st century technologist and part P.T. Barnum whose main goal is to create a lasting and remembered impression on the mind. This group of pictures shot by Jens Rotzsch and Anja Pietsch captured not only the moment at Trump Taj Mahal, but Gert. With a background in Brechtian theatre, a life lived in Berlin under East German domination behind the Berlin Wall, imprisonment and torture under the communist government and the loss of an eye in the process, Gert Hof developed an explosive style that is uniquely qualified to celebrate the triumph of the human spirit. His show explodes with light, pyro, sound, color and grand images. He is obsessed with the power of light as are those of us who make the tools of his trade. Take a look at the pictures in a slide show (high speed connection recommended).
Red Square
In another Gert Hof event, the Scorpions (German heavy metal veterans) played a special concert for 25,000 fans at Red Square. Syncrolite German dealers Procon and A&O Lighting teamed up to assist Gert and his associate Asteris Koutoulas in a truly memorable show.
